The "Step Stool"

Well, just recently Matilda has figured out that all she needs to do to reach things is to grab something she can stand on and push it up to where she needs it.

This problem seemed easy enough to solve...I just made all the "things" she commonly used "disappear!"

Gone were all the shoeboxes, trash cans, tissue boxes, cardboard boxes and of course her "jack in the box" 

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!.....

That is until...our friends brought over a late Birthday present

She rode it around non-stop for about 2 days, and then...

It's become her new "step stool", only problem is, when I "hide" it she banters me with..."carsh" "carsh" (that's the best way I know how to spell how she says "cars"... she thinks it's her car) Then I feel bad and bring it back out...I'm weak!

So now that you know what they mean...we thought we'd inform you, Oswald suffers from BOTH!

Sick,Sick,Sick....

Having healthy kids seems like a distant memory, these guys have been sick for what feels like FOREVER!!! But, this week it's like someone turned it up a notch. Kevin and I decided we weren't coming home from the Doctor's empty handed again, being told "they'll get better." We expressed our frustration to the Doctor and he started going through a check list of things we should be doing to help prevent illness:

Don't take the kids out shopping - Check

Wash hands immediately after returning home -Check

Sanitize your home - Check

No play dates/park days with other kids - Check

Now we were really bummed...we had done all of those things! The doctor was baffled..."So these kids are never in contact with other children, you never take them anywhere?" CHURCH!! We DO take our kids to church every Sunday!

Well, our Doctor gave us the rundown on our kids. He feels that their immune systems are extremely weakened right now since they haven't been able to fully recover from one bad illness before they catch another nasty virus. The prescription : NO CHURCH until after flu season is OVER!!!  Woo hoo!!! DR.'S ORDERS!!!

Seems whenever we "introduce" our children to a Mr. Potato Head they find it more fun to "accessorize" themselves! (At least they are putting all the "right" parts in all the "right" places!)

The "Hiding" Game

So, the "Hiding" Game has gone into full effect this week. It seems like everytime I call Matilda's name... I hear a squeal and a giggle and then the pitter patter of tiny feet running away from me! Here are just a few of the places she's been hiding. (She's actually getting  real good at hiding and loves to hide in dark closets... those pics didn't turn out so well.)

What's HER name?! How old is SHE?!

These are just a couple of the many, many questions I get asked when I take OSWALD out and about!! Seriously, I have NEVER thought he looked like a girl! And on top of that I NEVER put him in pink or purple! I do need to say that it is usually an "older" person...you know the ones with lots of wrinkles, that ask these questions. (and I'd have to say that 100% of the time he's wearing BLUE!)

Well, while I was "spring cleaning" Matilda's closet, taking out clothes that are too small for her I realized that Oswald is just 1 size smaller than her and for some reason I started thinking about all these comments we always get, and I couldn't resist...my curiosity got the best of me!

Turns out Oswald makes a ridiculously CUTE  little girl!!

Ok, so I've been doing some "spring cleaning" lately and I came across this heart shaped lollipop that my Mom (who I lovingly refer to as "Granny D" ) got for Matilda oh...maybe 2 years ago. Back then, I hid it away cause I thought she was too young to have sooo much sugar. But, I'm over that now and once Matilly (as my Mother lovingly refers to her) laid eyes on all of it's pink swirlly deliciousness, I couldn't tell her no! So, "Granny D" please enjoy the pictures, now that Matilly is finally old enough to enjoy such delights!

Poor Oswald...Mean Mommy!

So, I have been getting kinda concerned that Oswald's development has begun to be inhibited by his "fatness" (you know...weight) and in an attempt to help thwart this I've begun my own "physical therapy" with him. At the moment when the "incident" occurred I was attempting to teach him how to crawl, you know, getting him on all fours; then moving his legs for him. Well, I didn't happen to see the Pez dispenser (pointy little thing) right in front of his face (he's kinda fat and that thing is small...I couldn't see it!) Well, I'm sure you can see how this is going to play out...his arms crumpled like aluminum foil and wham-o his mouth hit the Pez dispenser!

Yeah...I know you don't really see any thing...but to be honest I really wasn't thinking about taking a picture when blood was gushing from his mouth...not really but it was bleeding.  I got him all cleaned up and kissed all better before it occurred to me that I should probably document the first time I injured my son. But if you look closely you will notice that right smack dab in the middle of his lips (you know the bulbous part) it's kinda swollen and it looks a bit roughed up and the single solitary tear still dripping from his eye gives a good effect...don't you think?!

Ringing in 2010

So, We've decided that we'd start a blog. We are going to print it out at the end of the year and keep it as a Family History. That said...you may find the things we write cheezy and lame...we DON'T care!! You DON'T  have to read them! Just STOP visiting our Blog-we're cool with it!
