Grandma's Gifts

Kevin's Mom sent us some money to buy Matilda a Birthday present waaayyy back when...(on her Birthday!) and Kevin, let's just say, doesn't enjoy shopping.  But, he did want to go and watch her pick out her gift, BUT he didn't want to go until after Christmas, because of all the other shoppers we'd inevitably be fighting with...then...he was sure there was a HUGE rush of people returning stuff. He didn't want to have to deal with those people either! Well, I was finally able to convince him that the coast was probably clear and that we better hurry cause pretty soon there would be a lot of people buying Valentine's gifts and we really should get to the stores while we had this small window!

We first went to Target and that's where we just let her roam...she found the "girl" section No Problem!

She really seemed to like this kitchen set.

But, then she was bored...she did however still take the chair with her, but we ended up putting it back we just couldn't fathom spending $20 (that's like the price of a real one!!) on a chair that would break in half if Kevin or I even stumbled over it. (it was sooo cheapy)

Then there was this keyboard she had her eye on...for a little while.

But, she never really liked anything for longer than a few minutes...we gave up on her gift for the moment and picked out Oswald's Christmas present from Grandma and Grandpa while we were there (they sent us gift cards for both kids for Christmas)

We got him a little car console complete with steering wheel, blinkers, headlight switch, radio and cell phone.

He loved figuring out all the buttons and knobs.

It didn't take but a minute for Matilda to "take over", but Oswald is a good sharer!

By time we picked out Oswald's gift, Matilda was done with Target!
So, we hit the mall in search of the perfect present and I had a really good idea as to where we could find it.

Behold....Claire's!!

Now, we didn't actually have a chance to take any pictures of her inside this "wonderland" because it took all the hands we had to keep up with this girl gone wild!! She was emptying racks and trying things on faster than lighting!!

And behold the spoils...
I think this picture pretty much sums up the energy level experienced in Claire's that day!!

And here is a shot when I got her slowed down and I asked to see all her "pretty jewelry"

She "share's" her presents too!!

We still have to go back to Target and get her Christmas present, but we've decided for her what it's going to be...she needs a creative outlet that doesn't involve household textiles...

Such as...
The tile floor

The cabinets

And last, but not least, the walls...lots of walls!!

So, this is what she's going to get...
They only write on the "magic" paper!! Yay!!!
